About Us
We at Art Lingual provide professional support services to develop English language skills and ease difficult cultural transitions for both International students and refugees in the UK. We offer engaging and fun group workshops for International students and refugees, using drama and TEFL training to provide the necessary language support often overlooked in standard English classes. Using our applied theatre training, these workshops focus on the social reality of language: confidence, clarity, and creative expression. We give participants the freedom to learn and test their language skills within a safe and supportive environment. At the heart of our company is the desire to fight the isolation felt by all those who are in search of a new place to call home

The Creative Team |
Sierra and Olivia are the co-founders and artistic directors of Art Lingual.
Originally from the beautiful island of Guam, Sierra left her tiny island to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Education from Emerson College in Boston, MA. After four years of study, Sierra wasn't ready to go back to Guam just yet. Instead, she continued her journey in education by coming to London and pursuing her Masters in Applied Theatre. Known to occasionally break out into song on the streets of London, Sierra can often be found working with children in the borough of Hackney or cooking (and mostly eating) delicious food. An American theatre artist living in London, Olivia received her BFA in Acting from Arcadia University in Philadelphia, and has received her MA in Applied Theatre from the Royal Central School and Drama just last year. She has performed across Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and London. Her theatre tastes include new works, the classics and musicals. She loves Italian food, exploring new places and polka dancing. |
Our History |
Founded in 2015, we started this company as a way to combine our love of theatre with our passion for working with vulnerable groups. With the rise in asylum seeking across the world, this company seeks to work with refugees to ease their transitions into the UK.
